How to Begin?

Hi Friends ~

This is the inaugural post of my Keto Healthstyle blog. How to begin...? Like most women of my age and size, I've tried soooo many different diets. I've done Weight Watchers, Thin So Fast (high protein shake diet), whole foods diet, lo-cal diet, extreme lo-fat diet, and every cabbage/egg/soup/shake/ fad diet that came along. I've lost weight on most of those diets, some better than others. The diets that have worked the best for me in the past were the Thin So Fast (about 25 years ago), and the whole foods/cut out processed foods diet (combined with 45 minutes a day on an elliptical) about 2 years ago. Each time I've seen progress on a diet plan I've tried to convince myself that I can keep this lifestyle up forever...and if I should happen to gain a few pounds I can "just hop back on the diet and take the weight right back off." WHO WAS I KIDDING?!! I've never been able to "hop back on" any previously successful diet.

Today, I am starting my third month on a Ketogenic way of eating (KWOE). So far I've lost a total of 15 pounds. My 9-week average weight loss has been 1.66 pounds per week. The first couple of weeks I lost more, then my weight loss slowed. Recently, I have been losing somewhere around 3/4 - 1 pound a week. I've done a lot of research on healthy weight loss programs and the more research I do the more the KWOE seems right for me. In these 9 weeks I have enjoyed the meals I eat, I've lost my cravings for foods I NEVER thought I could live without, and I've felt more in control and better about myself than I have in many years.
